Excitement in Central Otago

For over 35 years NZ Van Lines has been servicing the Central Otago and the Lakes Districts from our offices in Dunedin and Invercargill

We are delighted to announce that we will soon be bringing our world class local, long distance and international moving and storage services right to the heart of Central Otago.

The reasoning for this is straight forward. Over the last two years we have seen a significant growth in retirement and lifestyle moving. Kiwis have been selling up and relocating to the Lakes Districts in droves. As the country opens (post covid) we expect the tourism, hospitality, wine, and pip fruit sectors to return to full capacity and employment. This can only add to the increased demand we have been experiencing.

NZ Van Lines Design & Build Project

Our new ‘state of the art’ office and warehouse building in Venning Crescent, Cromwell is well underway and scheduled for opening in October of this year.

We chose Cromwell because it’s one of the most progressive towns in New Zealand and the strategic transport hub to our most vibrant inland regions. Situated between the Lindis and Haast passes Cromwell has easy access to the primary regional townships of Queenstown, Wanaka, and Alexandra.

A feature of our new build is the 9m stud height which allows us to stack and store three containers high, inside the warehouse and out of both the winter cold and extreme summer heat. There is also ample hardstand for the fast turn around and transit of our super-sized linehaul trucks and container trailers.

Premium Not Pricey

We are bringing our full suite of premium moving services right to the doorstep of Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes District customers. What this means is a direct service into and out of the region from anywhere in New Zealand or worldwide. There will be no transhipping or rail connections interrupting the journey.

From an overall cost perspective, the benefits will be obvious. Our pricing will reflect the integration of this region into our nationwide network of 15 branches. We are providing a true ‘one company’ service. This will also significantly reduce the hidden costs associated with lengthy transit times and delays.

Another major benefit to customers will be a significant reduction in the risk of damages, poor service, and lost items. Most of our competitors are operating on a shoestring into and out of the region. This means they are often using unskilled labour and double handling or transhipping customers effects from trains and other out of town transport companies.
