New Zealand Van Lines can assist with the transportation of your vehicles around the world.

New Zealand Van Lines handles about 60 cars per month into and out of New Zealand as part of our customers household relocations. With each country having specific requirements for compliance, import permits, luxury tax’s and on road criteria, it is important to have all this in order prior to the car being shipped. The New Zealand Van Lines team will ensure you have the latest customs and regulatory information to assist with this process.

Most countries will inspect vehicles on arrival at our bonded warehouses. After clearances collection is preferred from these facilities. Transportation to local compliance centres can be facilitated but is usually handled locally due to the varying regulations in transporting imported vehicles.

Contact us about your motor vehicle shipping requirements.

Most countries prefer the cars to be clear of personal items, so we recommend not including items within your vehicle.

Import permits are issued by the Australian Government and must be obtained before your vehicle ships. It usually takes six weeks for the application to be processed.

It is highly advisable to ensure your vehicle is as clean as possible to avoid the transport of bio security risks to another country. This will also help with the clearance inspections.

It is preferred to have less than a ¼ of a tank of fuel, ideally just enough to cover any movement at destination during on-road compliance.
Yes, New Zealand Van Lines regularly exports private vehicles that have been purchased by residences overseas, from classics to luxury and prestige collectables – we can ship any motor vehicle.
